We are so honored and excited to be joined by the friends who have helped us and challenged us to be the people we are today. We thought you might like to meet them. We’re big fans.
The Best Woman
Rosaline
Roz has been Brenda’s ride or die since she was 14. They bonded over cheerleading and have never looked back.
Brideswomen
Amanda
Amanda is Brenda’s oldest friend, they have been friends since they were 5. From sidewalks to nightclubs they haven’t stopped dancing since.
Shannon
Girls used to pick on Brenda until Shannon and her became friends in 7th grade. She still got Brenda’s back.
Abby
Abby and Brenda met in the elevator of their dorm first day of college. Brenda was mad she was from OK and didn’t have an accent. She got over it.
Mandy
Mandy and Brenda like to say they fell in love first day of law school orientation. Brenda graciously now shares her with Ryan.
Courtney
One look at Court and Brenda knew she had to be her friend. Mandy and Brenda stalked her until this happened. She is Brenda’s hetero-lifemate, this changes nothing.
The Best Man
Ross
Ross and Jake shared a play pen and lived next door to each other through first grade. Ross cast Jake as the nazi villain in his high school Indiana Jones spoof. It’s no wonder he also introduced Jake to Mystery Science Theatre 3000.
Groomsmen
Dan
Jake was first highly skeptical of Dan because he took up Ross’s time playing giant board games. Jake convinced them both they should probably go outside and play frisbee now and again.
Thom
In high school, Thom invited Jake to play bass in his band, long before Jake actually knew how to play an instrument. They’ve been saving the world–three chords at a time–ever since.
Matt
Jake let Matt talk him into joining a fraternity and subsequently became Jake’s fraternal big brother. Together, they made sure it was a safe space for geeks wearing glasses.
Eric
One of Jake’s fraternity pledge brothers, he taught Jake that preppies are people, too. Together, they planned the best fraternity formal their chapter had ever seen.
Jason
Pioneer of top ten lists before listicles were even a thing, Jason was the other voice of reason in Jake’s fraternity pledge class. They often thought, “this is a terrible idea; why are we doing this?” and then probably did it anyways.
Rafi
Jake let Rafi convince him that moving to Brooklyn without a job was a good idea. They agreed Jake could walk around without a shirt so long as Rafi didn’t have to wear pants.
The Officiant
Rabbi Daniel Brenner
Daniel and Jake shared an office while Jake was working at Hazon. They traded CDs and talked about manly things (because Daniel creates curriculum around gender and manhood). Brenda met Daniel at one of Jake’s gigs and thought he was alright, too. We’re excited that Daniel will be guiding us along this journey.
